Joyce Clark Turner for
Mount Pleasant
It's time to get down to the business of preparing for our future.
ENDORSEMENT
"To my Mt. Pleasant friends. I am supporting Joyce Turner as a candidate for Mt. Pleasant City Council. Joyce has served alongside me on the Main Street Committee for the past two years. During that time, I have been impressed by her good ideas, willingness to accept assignments and dedication. Joyce's education in civil engineering and previous work experience in city government, make her a great candidate. Joyce is the Marketing Director at Wasatch Academy and owns a home in Mt. Pleasant. She has the time and energy to serve. I know Joyce loves Mt. Pleasant and will do an excellent job.

PERSONAL LIFE
I was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana in a solid RLDS family. My dad was an elder and my parents, both depression era kids, met in the church. I participated in every summer camp at Camp Manitou, went to church every week, and attended Graceland College for my freshman year. I had 2 older brothers and 1 older sister. My father died when I was 14 and my my mother and I worked our way through my high school years as my siblings were all older and out of the house by then.
My ambitions to thrive in life lead me to pursue a bachelor's of science in civil engineering and I received my degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia. I lived with my aunt and uncle in Odessa, Missouri in the summers and on school breaks working on a dairy farm. Through college placement, I received an offer to work for the highway department in California, Caltrans.
My son, Gavin, just graduated in the Wasatch Academy class of 2023. I am a single mom with 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 5 chickens. I love being outdoors and connecting with community.
My life has transformed over the years through many amazing and trying experiences. I find great joy in helping others.
